“The Year of Abundance” is a crossover project between documentary recording and self-fiction processes. This work brings together archive footage of moments of parties, backstage and the lives of the members of the Rabbit Hole collective, to which the director belongs, captured since 2012 until now. From this archive and new footage, the film builds a reflection on friendship as a platform for the creative process, a look at growing pains and the alternative families that are created throughout life.
Personal and collective history are mixed in this film which, besides being a rare document of an important part of the alternative Portuguese queer movement of the 2000s, is an essay on memory, resistance, death and, above all, love.
